Acceptable Use Policy

1. AI-powered products and BYOK architecture

EOS App and EOS CLI are AI-powered coding agents that use large language models ("AI") to assist with software development — writing and editing code, running commands, searching documentation, and automating development workflows. AI Dev Methodology is a digital handbook that teaches a spec-driven development process for working with AI agents.

Bring Your Own Key (BYOK). EOS runs locally on your machine and does not operate any model endpoints. You bring your own API key and connect the tools to any OpenAI-compatible provider of your choosing (for example OpenAI, Anthropic, MiniMax, DeepSeek, or a self-hosted endpoint). All prompts, code, and context are sent directly from your computer to the model provider you configured. EOS does not receive, store, or transmit your model calls, and is not the provider of AI-generated content.

Because the AI runs through your own provider account, your use of that provider (including its data policies, terms of service, and any retention settings) is governed by your agreement with that provider, not by EOS.

2. Permitted use

You may use our products for lawful software development activities, including: coding assistance and code review, testing and debugging, documentation, refactoring, and task automation within projects you own or are authorized to work on.

3. Prohibited use

Generating malware, exploits, spam, phishing content, or any code designed to harm others or systems
Using the tools to conduct illegal, fraudulent, or deceptive activity
Automating abusive behavior, mass content scraping, service abuse, or unauthorized access to systems and data
Generating sexually explicit, hateful, harassing, or otherwise harmful content
Infringing intellectual property rights, misappropriating confidential information, or violating the terms of service of third-party platforms
Bypassing access controls, evading security measures, or laundering activities that violate applicable law

4. User responsibility

AI output is generated by the model provider you connect (BYOK) and may be incorrect, incomplete, or unexpected. You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and approving all AI-generated code, commands, and content before using or deploying it. In particular, always review commands that modify or delete files, access networks, or run long-lived processes. The AI does not act on your behalf legally.

5. Transparency

The AI agent you interact with is a language model, not a human developer or contractor. Discussions about tooling, licensing, and policy found in AI responses are informational and subject to the same verification expectations described above.

6. Monitoring and enforcement

We may suspend or terminate access to our products if we reasonably believe a user is violating this policy, our Terms of Service, or applicable law.
